The Ministry of Labour and Employment has issued the notification, under Section 4 of the Employees’ Compensation Amendment Act 2020 the amount of monthly wages has been enhanced from Rs.8,000/- p.m. to Rs.15,000/- p.m. with effect from 03.01.2020 for calculating compensation. This has been notified vide Gazette notification dated 03.01.2020.

In case the wages are less than ₹15,000/-, the compensation will be proportionately less, subject to a minimum of ₹1,20,000/- & ₹1,40,000/-for death and permanent disablement benefit respectively.
