Parliament Elections – Notification for paid holiday – SGC Services

Employers: The Election Commission of India has released a circular stating that all eligible employees must be given a paid holiday on the day of polling for the upcoming General elections to Lok Sabha 2024 and Bye elections of various States. This is in accordance with Section 135B of the Representation of People Act 1951. It is important for all employers to adhere to this regulation and allow their employees the opportunity to exercise their right to vote. Failure to do so may result in legal consequences.

Ensure that your employees are aware of their rights and make arrangements for them to cast their vote on the designated polling day. Let’s promote a democratic and participative work culture by supporting our employees in fulfilling their civic duty.
